Game Selection Criteria

What standards must a game meet to be added to Oyun Kulübü? This page details the technical, editorial and safety filters applied to our catalog.

Our filtering approach

Our game catalog is fed from three different sources: 1) original games developed by our studio, 2) licensed third-party HTML5 game providers, 3) additional titles manually selected by the editorial team. The same quality threshold applies to all three sources.

Technical criteria

Load performance

A game's main asset files should load in under 10 seconds on a mobile connection. Games exceeding this are either optimized or not admitted to the catalog. Measurements are done via Cloudflare Analytics and WebPageTest.

Mobile compatibility

The game must be playable on touchscreens. We prefer whichever orientation (portrait or landscape) fits the genre. Testing is done on iPhone Safari, Android Chrome and Samsung Internet.

Stability

The game must run without crashes for a 20-minute session and must not produce critical errors in the JavaScript console. Games showing FPS drops or memory leaks are removed from publication.

Editorial criteria

Originality

Copies of popular games or unauthorized ports do not enter our catalog. We ensure a game is distributed with the approval of its developer or license holder.

Genre variety

We aim for balanced representation of major genres such as action, puzzle, racing, sports, skill, IO and card games. Genre rotation is preferred over 20 consecutive titles from the same genre.

Adding value

We highlight titles that add value beyond just playing: games with teaching mechanics, math/language exercises, memory-building games.

Safety criteria

Child appropriateness

Games rated at ESRB E (Everyone) and E10+ (10+) are prioritized. Games containing violence, adult content, realistic weapon use or gambling mechanics are not admitted to the catalog.

Ad behavior

Games that pop up, play audio ads or force redirects inside the iframe are removed from publication. Accepted ad types: well-defined banners, rewarded videos, closable full-screen ads shown at the end of a game.

Data collection

We don't accept games that request personal data from the user. Titles asking for email, phone, location or forcing external account creation inside the game are rejected.

Removal from catalog

If a game stops meeting the above criteria after being added (e.g., if the provider changes its ad policy, if a new version starts crashing, if a copyright objection arrives), the editorial team reviews it. A decision is made within 72 hours and the game is either updated or removed accordingly.

How do I submit a suggestion?
